Question - Kung Lao Kung Lao's Teleport?

I'm new to mk, never really got into mk9, and am interested on how his tele works. What is it best used for? Is it punishable? Can it be poked out of? Any combos off it when it hits? Pretty much any and all info would be welcome. Thanks!

It's punishable as long as they do it while you're still in the air, although tele 2 (the overhead) is punishable on block. Tele grab can be neutral ducked. Delayed tele 3 on hit gives you a full combo the same way a jump in punch does.

So do you have to wait until hes in the air fully to push a button?
I dont see many Kung Laos doing the teleport. Seems like it may be useless

Every good Lao has been using teleport, it's far from useless.

When you throw the hat behind you, getting a combo from a tele 3 can use the hat as well. Gets 40%, I wrote the combo in the hat trick thread
