In Chapter 4, Raiden (the elemantals guy with the hat) tells Kung Jin to join the Shaolin monks.

'I can't... They won't accept,' Kung Jin says.

And in response, Raiden says: 'They care only of what is in your heart, not whom your heart desires.'

While it is not explicit, Kung Jin's sexuality appeared to be confirmed by Mortal Kombat X's cinematic director Dominic Ciancialo.

'I see people are picking up on the subtle exposition contained in Kung Jin's flashback,' he said on Twitter. 'Glad we have observant fans!'

OMG I am so excited, when i heard the raiden and kung jin dialog in story mode I INSTANTLY thought that was weird and wondered if it meant what i thought it meant

Um, guys? He clearly isn't gay. For one thing he knows how to fight, plus he doesn't speak with a lisp. Also, there's not ONE scene in story mode featuring him drinking a colorful alcoholic drink, and he doesn't constantly hit on straight men.

I was pretty sure he meant they wouldn't accept a thief, since that was the context. Gay never even crossed my mind.
