Kronika's Chests now give you past KL skins?

People on Reddit are confirming this. Past KL skins are now included in Kronika spheres in the krypt.

Having recently re-purchased the game now in ps4, I have way too much stuff to collect and verify this.

Anyone interested can check it out and post his findings here!

If true, awesome. I don't have a single reason to play KL matches (where I suck).

Good. Ranked mode should be about climbing the ranks and battling it out with players around your level who want to compete, locking specific cosmetics behind it that go away after a period of time is just asking for salt and toxicity since a lot of people are forcing themselves to play a mode they don't even want to play because their favorite character has a cool skin locked behind it that goes away in a month.

I never understood why NRS got this whole thing so wrong.

They gave rewards to single player modes the multiplayer gamers could never get without playing solo, and they gave rewards to online modes the single players could never get without playing online.

The fix is simple: Krypt and Towers of Time for solo players, random loot or crystals for online players to get or use on a dedicated online store of VIRTUAL currency.

Or better yet, the more you use a character (either online or offline) have random skins of gear FOR THAT CHARACTER ONLY appear every 3-5 fights. That way, playing as Noob Saibot (either online or offline) would give you more and more Noob Saibot skins and gear until you get everything. Problem solved. Everyone happy.

Actually no, they respawn in a couple of minutes. I’ve found 3 spheres in one session by running back in forth. It got very tedious so I stopped doing that bullshit. Not that I had a reson to open them all anyway, lol

after opening some kronika chests in the krypt within the last few hours i can definitely say they DO NOT give out KL skins. (i'm on PS4.)

I want to like this post at least 10 times. Might make another account to do so. Makes me so happy if they do this. I would much rather ignore KL every month and play casually, stress free. I dont want to play mk 24/7, and i feel the time commitment to complete the challenges and get demi god are too much. Ranked, with lag, with points on the line have created major vitriol from me to this game. With that said how do the brutalities work if you ignore the challenges? Are they just randomly unlocked as usual doing towers with that specific character? This would be amazing news.

Some ppl probably thought that repeated Krypt Event 2 vault is regular vault or something. And that Liu skin is from KL. This is not true.

Echoing previous sentiments in this thread, I wish they'd just add skins, gear, brutalities, Kombat Kards etc. into a general pool that you get rewarded from for simply playing the game. That way you can play however you want and get whatever you want eventually. As a long time Destiny player who left because of the timed content, I hate to see it being the only option to get new things in MK (for most of us playing since release besides the occasional dlc release. Not everybody has the time to grind KL or even wants to and I feel that it causes a lot more salt, resentment, and hate for the game than there would be if they just let people go about the getting rewards in their own way.

I still say Season of Blood should have had a D'vorah skin, not Kitana.

That way you'd have D'vorah looking like a Black Widow spider.

It's by no means a definitive answer, but on PS4 with probably 90% of all gear and skins unlocked but don't play online (therefore don't have any KL skins unlocked).

Just opened a Kronika Sphere and got...





Augments and konsumables. The usual. Sigh.

REALLY want that navy blue Kitana KL skin with her hair in buns... not really fussed about any of the others, but to have Kitana in her natural colours with different hair... it's the one skin currently released I don't have that I do really want. Wouldn't mind Jade's human skin in her green revenant wear just for variety's sake, but Kitana's is benefited by having the totally different hair style and the fact it feels made for her Kitana Kahn mask.

But not believing it yet.

This is probably a coincidence, but almost every time I hit one of the gongs, I find a Kronika chest pretty quick
