Kinda horrible at it, but still in love with MK

Hey everyone, I'm new to fighting games (I actually hated fighting games until mk9, and someone convinced me to get it day one and it became probably my fav game of all time.)

Anyways even from all my playing I'm still terrible at it. I started with a habit of button mashing, and having trouble breaking that habit. I wanna learn how to get better, and after playing a couple people that absolutely destroyed me with crazy combos for a couple hours, a quick google search brought me here.

So hello everyone! I main johnny cage btw, but I'm considering abandoning him for kitana.
