With Killer Instinct coming out is very exciting in its own, the technology the new system will offer as well as what the team is working on is also very interesting. In a newly posted interview by GameTrailers, they talk to Double Helix Games Lead Producer, Michael Willette about extensive details. Not only will Killer Instinct be running on 60 frames per second; they are also going for the... "it's brutal, it's almost dark in nature" feel that we all know Killer Instinct to have from 17 years ago. There are a few highlights listed below of topics Michael covers.

- Unique/seamless online matchmaking
- Global illumination lighting system
- Guessing wrong on breakers locks you out for 3 seconds from attempting to break again

Let's hope this is true. We also heard another company say no MK chars will be in their DC game so naturally..........we have trust issues:)
 
Seamless matchmaking and 60FPS online sounds great, but if it has a shit netcode none of that matters. Hopefully they nail that down. I also feel they are hurting themselves by letting you buy single characters. I think the full version 1 character demo is a great idea, but why limit sales by parting out the roster? This game deserves full purchases/retail. I have so many hopes for this game I just don't want to be too optimistic and have my dream crushed upon release. I really hope they nail this.

They said they had 3 different versions you can get. The free one which has all the content but only Jago as a character and then you can buy a "season pass" that will get you all the content as it is released which would be all the characters they release in the 1st season. The 3rd method is the same as the 2nd but with some special goodies I think they said.
 
Sounds like maybe half a roster to make launch date then? Maybe they are further along in development than they seem to be. But I guess if they are releasing a full roster over time they will get constant feedback from players how to keep moving forward. Then again it will feel like a shallow roster to start. If that is in fact how they go about it. Sort of a mixed blessing I guess. Either way it is KI revived and I am on board. Here's to hoping we get classic Jago also. Can't wait for this game. Pre ordered my Xbox One and waiting to buy 2 TE2 sticks when they announce pre orders.

They promised a good Silent Hill game and failed. Let's just hope they actually do research on the franchise before creating the game. Unlike Silent Hill, they just watched the shitty american film adaptation of the game series and based their enemies off of that and Silent Hill 2. *Shakes Head*
 
I am trying to be highly optimistic this IP is one of the defining moments in my childhood as a gamer. I really hope they don't fuck it up. From everything I have read the have brought in a lot of the right people to do the job. Also every account of the pro's getting time with it looks promising as well.
 
Not only did they bring in people that love and have experience developing fighting games, but they also have many of the creators of the old KI games overseeing development. I think it will turn out great.
