When "Mortal Kombat: Rebirth" hit the web by accident in 2011 the response was more than anyone, even the producer, Kevin Tancharoen expected. In fact, in this video Kevin explains how Mortal Kombat: Legacy began by accident and how it got in to what it is today. Kevin Tancharoen states that he made Mortal Kombat: Rebirth over a weekend with "favors" from all actors involved. NOTE: Take this with a grain of salt but at 20:02 Lance Slaone says, "in 2014 when we have a new game coming out by the way, hopefully" - Could it be... UMK9 or MK10?

With the time it takes for development cycles, I think early 2015 is the best we can hope for without sacrificing quality. Who knows what WB has planned? Maybe they will take us by surprise.

That was quite interesting. I loved the first series, so I can't wait for season 2 and whatever comes next!

Also, I hope we don't get a new MK next year. I'm hoping for more DLC support for Injustice than MK got. Plus I'd rather wait for a quality game later, than a rushed game sooner.
