Keene NH casuals

Hello to all of you in the New England area. I have recently decided that I'm going to spark the local scene here in Keene. I've attempted to go to a few tournaments. The problem is that the two and a half hour drive is simply not reasonable for my work/family schedule. Therefore I have to make the scene happen for me and the community that exists. I've scouted out a few places and will most likely set a date place and time within a week. Any advice anyone on the boards can give would be greatly appreciated. I will not be having a full on tournament this first time. This event that is in the works will be casual.

UPDATE

I have the event worked out and I am now ready to announce the time and place. Fight nights in the free state will be October 8th from 6:00PM-11:00PM. Come on out to Toy City. I want to see what kind of MK scene we can get out here. This is the first time that I have put on a gaming scene so this will just be casual play. The owner has agreed to allow us to use his space on what has traditionally been game night for the area card players.

If you are interested in coming out please contact me and let me know what you can bring. I have a copy of the game (XBox 360) and a RCA 26 inch HD screen. I'm not sure how many people to expect but I'm open to people bringing other games. Although I want to play MK. There will be snacks and drinks for sale. And also you are free to bring outside food and drink. The owner Steven Levy is a great guy and wants us to have a good time. I'll go over the house rules on an individual basis when you get there. Can't wait to see you there.

You should post some info up at the Keene State Campus, will probably get more participation that way. If you are or know a student there it's also pretty easy to get casual events such as these rolling. I went there a few years ago and they had halo tourny's at the student center fairly often.

not a good showing but we should try and expand upon this if im going to counter-pick everybody at tournaments.

good news. We have a time reserved next week at Toy city. Come on out to another fight night in the free state on October 29. Our first showing was rather small. But hopefully over time as more people come out on a regular basis, we will be able to get the community growing. One thing that was lacking was the number of set ups. I was only able to bring one tv and two systems. If anyone would be able to bring a set up that would be great. This will be at the same place as the OP. send me a message if you have any questions. After this night of casuals I will need to look for another place until January. The store needs all the space they can get for their inventory. Hope to see you there.

Oh man. I'd like to but the 29th? That's the same day as Salty Battles. Maybe next time.

Wow I dropped the ball on not getting back to you in a timely manner. I apologize. the time is the same as before, 6:00pm-11:00pm. I will be there during the duration of the night. I went to the weekly meetup at the local library. Some people may show up from that scene. See you all on sat.
