It's time for the TYM Championship Games! Join us XBL while we battle it out to see what TYM member is the true king of online play. Show off your skills and see how other masterful players use your favorite characters! Matches will be recorded and posted for all to see! If you would like to be a part of an organized TYM community XBL tournament please contact me asap. Thanks!
Sign-ups are now over for the TYM Championship Games. If you would like to participate but have missed the sign-up you can get an early start on registering for the next iteration! Just contact me at [email protected] with your TYM username, your gamertag, your available play times, and your time zone and I will add you to the list of interested players. I look forward to hearing from you!
I know that online play is not ideal for a tournament setting but with so many of our members spread out it seems like the only viable option for organizing bouts between members.
Below is an outline of the tournament layout I have put together so far:
Tournament Layout:
Contestants will send me their available play schedules. I will make a database of players and their schedules and divide players into assorted tournament times based on those schedules. Players will be added to a bracket by random draw. I will then post the bracket and scheduled match times. At this point players can reschedule if they need to. Each contestant must be defeated twice. When a player is defeated they will join the losers bracket. If you lose a match while part of the losers bracket then you are out of the tournament. The final match will be the winners bracket leader vs. the losers bracket leader, though the winners bracket leader must still be defeated twice since he has not yet lost a match.
Match Layout:
At the scheduled time I will create a private KOTH room and invite both players into the room and a party. The 2 players will face off while I observe the match as a neutral 3rd party. Zoidberg747 will also join the room so he can record the match. Each match will be determined best 2 out of 3. This will continue until all scheduled matches have been fought or decided via alternate means (forfeited, etc.).
Match Posting:
I will have a separate thread dedicated to posting match results, videos, and other relevant information.
Official Rules
1. In the event of game-altering circumstances a call will be made on the spot. In the case of excessive lag the match can be rescheduled. Should the lag persist the participants will have no choice but endure the lag. Excessive lag will be noted in the post match notes. In the event of a dropped connection a decision will be made based on the state of the game. If the match was even or if the dropped player was obviously winning then the match must be restarted. If the dropped player was obviously losing then the match will be called in the winning player's favor.
2. Nothing will be allowed that is not allowed in a true tournament setting. Any glitches, mods, or actions that affect the outcome of a match will not be tolerated.
3. Any participant that is more than 10 minutes late for their scheduled match will forfeit the match.
4. In order to minimize the risk of issues popping up during play all characters must be used with their default costumes.
5. No kombat codes will be used during tournament play.
