Just a random thought...What if the game started out with a Clash?

What if the game started out with a Clash? Like give both players 4 bars and they decide whether to keep them and take damage or cancel-out the opponent/do damage to them.

In match-ups where 1 character need to keep away with a life lead this will create an interesting meta-game, no? Or will nothing change since both will always try to bet 4 bars?

No this would greatly benefit zoners, if the attacker has to worry about doing unclashable damage in the first lifebar I would drop this game immediately.

Ok but instead of sending both full-screen send them both on starting distance. In all situations(Win/Lose/Draw)
That is space enough for zoners to move back and do their keepaway game so you have to try and corner them again.

It's already like that now anyways. What are you suggesting? I don't want to get in the "zoning is OP'd in this game" discussion again because those who say that most likely don't play zoning characters and don't realize that there are more effective rushdown characters in this game than zoners.

Trying to corner someone TWICE ONLINE during the FIRST LIFEBAR? Do you realize how many more people would quit this game? I am no longer going to post in this thread because I don't want to bring any validity to this thread.

I could maybe see starting with a clash, but it'd still be 1 per game - that way you wouldn't have to worry about clash able damage the entire match. Starting with four bars is absurd. Superman could 2frame you at the start of the match for 30%.

The should just get of rid of clash. For characters that are not meter dependent like WW or BM it acts like a 3rd life bar basically giving them an extra 25-30% life.

whats the highest you got the super combo without an ice arrow? not the combo before the super
Without? Not that many extra hits because I'd save super for last round and use Meter for other stuff first round given i'd usually have 4 bars near the end of the 1st and it'd be throwing away meter on damage I'd never see if I used it then. Second round they can clash so I'd just b3 j2 and never get much further cause they'd clash. I'd keep going for 223 hurricane bow after wards. Once I managed to B3 and time some dead ons though. I was trying to do a super combo where I'd combo, super, b3, deadon ice arrow but I mashed the Dead ons and double fired and dropped. Would've been a nice reset. I cant remember what it got me. Ice arrow is pretty much needed for Green Arrow. I guess around 41%-ish percent if I supered and got my followup on 2nd bar since its always so short.

Thing is you can't just count super then whatever as your potential with Green Arrow. That'd be assuming you could raw super and get someone by using his super as a starter and thats nearly impossible. The super needs a setup as its delayed so you have to have a BNB that goes into it. I guess my whole deal wouldn't 100% someone given I use only a 32-33% bnb unless I can get to the corner, but still add it up and thats a huge amount of damage for Green Arrow straight out the gate and he's good enough at running that the life lead would work out.

In any case I gotta say that 4 bars at start of the round would be crazy in any fighting game. Imagine Marvel with maximum starting meter.
