Just a heads up, this tends more toward the speedrunning side of things. I play a lot of the old-school Castlevania games and need to practice them for the upcoming SDA charity event in January. I'll also play Bad Street Brawler as part of their bad game segment.

That said, now that I once again have a working 360 and MK9 I will stream some of that! Exploring new characters and even playing online are doable here.

I always have commentary for these and read the stream chat via IRC, so don't be shy with questions and conversations! Especially with speedruning, stream chat is what makes getting world records bearable!

I plan on doing something tomorrow evening, need to finish something for school first. Might finally get the DLC characters and look at them, though I am intrigued with Scorpion and Sektor at the moment...

Funkdoc, should you get into our sektor community we will welcome you with open (robot) arms.

I feel the sektor community has a type of brotherhood that doesnt need to be spoken about and we are far and few between. Our character isn't gimmicky, feels good to win with without using 90% UNBLOCKABLE reset zomg comboz zomg lulz like some other robots *cough* cyrax*cough* Over at the sektor forums we post great tech and continue to find tech with him weekly and would love to have a solid player like yourself join us. Sektor will dominate the match and limit your opponents jumping into some nice safe jump opportunities with decent chip build and very good damage output. I dont play scorpion but i can vouch that he is as solid as sektor and ihas an insane 50/50 game. Im sure you already kno what i have just stated about both characters but i hope you make the right decision and join the red robot army >:]

I think it's easy to learn a lot of characters in this game, since things mostly come down to fundamentals and having a good feel for everyone's pressure. So I'm pretty sure I'll be playing both of them a good deal.

I will probably go to Freddy as my main character if he isn't nerfed beyond the glitches, though. Gotten to play him a bit and he's real fun, plus I loved the idea of him in MK from the beginning! He and Skarlet strike me as "a bit of everything" characters a la Kano but better.

I have also already learned Kenshi some and could see myself using him as my Mileena counter at the very least. I have no idea how Kano's supposed to win that one...

EDIT: Also, wtf is with the damage on Scorp/Sek bnbs? Seems like they don't scale like a lot of other characters do - NRS probably changed the scaling on bigger problem characters over time and just ignored them.

Yeah sektor gets like 10%+ for an extu in his combos... idk man sektor can dish out a 57% 1 bar (although its situational, you can still get 52% from 1 bar and a jump in punch)..its crazy..im sure the nerf bat is coming if they decide to give sektor the ability to cancel into his front/back homing missles. But since sektor isnt an s tier character and is underplayed i guess his damage output isn't a problem then lets say a cyrax. IMO sekt and scorpion are the 2 chars that are very capable but risky so their damage is justified somewhat.

I will go live in 10-15 minutes! Just going to be training mode, learning more characters & asking/talking about them with the stream chat. Def wanna work on Sonya, Cage, Mileena...we'll see how it goes!

The MK9 practice stream was cool Josh. Keep on doing these, I learned a bunch of stuff about characters I never bothered using before that now I am very interested in. Keep up the good work!

I have to leave for work right now but I will try and get XBL enabled when I get back. I will def stream tonight and I'd like it to be actual matches + DLC character stuff this time!

Could also throw in a speedrun or two afterward if yall want - I can consistently beat the original Castlevania in under 13 minutes and the 3rd one in around half an hour or so (depending on character). I am maaaaaaaad rusty in 4 though, that's going to require a lot of emulator practice first, especially since there are new tricks from the TAS I want to test.

OK, just remembered that I can't really stream using the wireless internet here. I may or may not be able to stream online matches - I have one idea but am not sure it will work. Going to try soon...

In all seriousness; I really wish I caught your stream. I can't seem to find an archive. It was great meeting you at Summer Jam; you're knowledge about the game is top notch and our matches were really enjoyable. Sorry again for the mix up with the apartment and hotel!

You don't happen to have a ps3 anywhere do you? As much as I hate online I'd love to exchange my Sektor knowledge for some Kano.

Unfortunately I only have a 360...

Everyone: Also unfortunately, I won't be able to stream online matches as of yet. I've looked into this further and my router and ethernet adapters just aren't powerful enough to handle it. I would need a wireless connection that could handle streaming, so that I could directly connect my 360 to the 1gbps ethernet here, but that doesn't exist here.

I could just get a better router and hope my college internet doesn't keep disconnecting me when I use it...that won't be for a while at least.

So sadly I think a small minority of my streams will be MK-related. If you like oldschool games I'll definitely have a lot of good stuff for you though!
