Joker MU Discussion Thread

I also want to mention that, if you backdash after Superman's breath, and Superman goes for another F23, B1 is NOT your go to whiff punish because that in itself whiffs.

Instead, after back dashing, walk up for a split second and full combo punish with 11.

Now I could be wrong but can superman push a blocked crowbar with f2? It keeps happening to me and I don't know if it's lag delay or something like that. I haven't labbed it yet lol

Bruh, bane obliterates joker lol staph it and yeah block the cross up if he jumps in and react to the overhead or low with a block

ya for real tho, if bane is doing that charge from full screen... hes prob also popping lvl 3 venom willy nilly aka shit bane. Shit bane is easily beaten. As for grodd...it becomes a lot easier if you play grodd and you know how long he can combo and where the reset is. I suggest you learn that loop. @ OP, I like your corner combo there its a bit more optimal than what im doing but isnt b12 mroe + frames? I saw qwark saying that I believe. If not, I need to adopt it!

after SHKD double dash j1 beats shit loads of wakeups or double dash jump back 2/3 (blue beatle, few others). Sorry im not handy enough with gifs to make one haha. Also if u end certain combos with 113 crowbar, the crowbar will be unblockable distance in case they decide to block/roll and will stuff some wakeups as well.

Honored by the tag, but I don't have anything to add yet. I've only played Joker in multiverse. I was going to say this in my own thread, but I can say it here. I'm definitely hurting from that Joker nerf more than you guys because I didn't play him as a mid screen teeth looper. I only used teeth for my corner setups. Mid screen my game was a lot different. Ask anyone who played me. My BNB was JI2, 32, MB RG, B3, JI2, 32, Acid Flower for 43% I think. Now that I don't have acid flower I don't have go to BNB. After 32, I try the gun, but I'd rather have my quick restand. So what do guys think of that?

double dash has to be the shkd. I don't play bane but from my experience I guess in banes favor slightly. He has tools to get out of the corner pretty easy it seems...I can never keep banes in there very long. Also he has so many lows and a command grab so parrying is risky as all get out. If u can bait that flying punch wake up things will be easier on you for sure. One thing I wish MB gun would blow up on armored targets even if it didnt launch them (which would be ideal if they were forced to block the second hit to not get launched) it should do a little damage.

I was actually discussing the topic with @Vengeance135 before. I was dropping the last part of the optimized combo, and he made me realize that, in exchange for a little less damage, you can use a combo that requires very easy execution.

For example, you could simply use J2 32 BF2(mb) B3 J2 32 BF3 for a good chunk of damage.

Coming from the first game where joker was literally the only character i played, I know exactly how you feel. My play style was extremely affected by these nerfs and adjusting to this new style took a lot of work. Like you, I never relied on teeth loops outside the corner because if I dropped the combo I would've been forever pissed at my opportunity for damage. @BrianTheBEAST laid out my go to combo for this game and I don't really rely on teeth setups often and with the new options they have to completely ignore people's knockdown game, delayed wake up AND push block, I rely on only certain corner teeth setups.

Don't get me wrong, I'm always utilizing teeth for meter build, mindgames and spacing, among a few other things, but outside of that, I'm cautious at how I use teeth in setups, especially since the block stun and blast radius was nerfed. There's still ways to use him!

I kinda like the whole 2 traits in one combo idea. It freaks people out when they see the Joker moving so fast. Just watch out for D2's because they know you wanna get in quickly. Got to play it patient :)
 
And I've been seeing some pretty good results when I backdash after I block Catwoman's J2. Even if she hits the J2 at close range, you can still backdash and punish with F23 if she commits to either her F2 or B1 string.

have you messed around with combo potential after traited up? More jump kicks etc. Makes for some interesting setups due to gravity being different than the normal bnb when u add another j1/j2 in it.

I've tried to lab some trait combos before, but I couldn't find a combo or setup where specifically having trait makes it better :/
