Is this where NRS are getting their stage transition ideas from?

I think the huge stages, stage interactibles and transitions are there to make the game feel like a movie-like experience. Mortal Kombat's trademark is the grim, over the top violent and gory visual outlook, but they couldn't really apply it to Injustice since superheroes and villains almost never die or kill each other in the comics.

They've taken the startup to Supers from comic covers/pages, I wouldn't be surprised if they took some stuff from the animated universe as well.
