Is the directional input sticking way longer than intended?

GEEZ. I'm not sure if it's my habit of blocking with db instead of just b (well even if it's the case) or what, I'm getting WAAAAY too many unwanted specials just from going db to b or even f to db. Is there a way or technique to ensure this doesn't happen or issit just this game?

PS. I have release check off and it still happens with alternate controls on or off.
