Is it a controller issue?

I cannot do combos online like I can offline. I have beaten the battles on hard with cateoman and Wonder Woman, I've spent hours getting %40 combos with shazam in training, I have a hard wired 30mb xfinity connection, yet my record is atrocious online because I average 1 win to 8 losses, none of the combos I pull offline work, yet I get constantly stuck in full 30% + combos online while mine whiff after a b3, I've tried plugging my ps3 controller in with its USB cord but it feels like I'm a full second behind and my combos drop after the first 3 or 4 inputs. Am I playing against ps2 hard wired users ? I know my connection is sick but one whif and superman or Harley Quinn are dropping 10 hit combos and all I can manage are 3-4 hit strings or super moves.

Plus timing or spamming my wake ups are epic fail

It's called "lag".

There is a, sometimes slighthy, sometimes highly noticeable, input delay when you play online. Try to not rely too much in the visuals and trust your muscle memory. In time, you'll get used to it.

P.S: Three answers in less than three minutes...and pretty much all of us agree. Impressive.

P.P.S: Okey, make that four.

Just your typical input delay. You should be able to get used to it. As long as you are aware it is there you can kind of compensate for it. Or just don't play online. Sadly it will always be there in varying intensity each match. Good luck.

Well I'm pretty sure I have a better connection than most. Yet they get one overhead if I block low and I'm stuck in a combo. I bounce them and my next move isn't a punish, but a delayed whif on the combo startup. Ex I can b3 an opponent and go into cat claws for a combo, online I push the same buttons and it comes out slow enough she misses, yet I get bodied by opponents who start their string and get off full combos

It doesn't really matter if you have the better connection. You will still be receiving some of the lag. If you think it is a controller issue you should obviously get a new controller. However, I am more than certain that you are simply describing lag.

Doesn't matter how good is your connection, you'll ALWAYS have lag.

You are just not used to it yet, but most of the people playing online (including myself) are.

Sadly I can get frustrated and make scorpions uppercut look weak, I've literally destroyed rows of opponents doing atlas torpedo because they can't wake up attack as fast as I can pull that off, but then I'm just spamming a win, not much fun

You'll always lag online. Sometimes you'll get input delay with is worse then visual lagging. I still don't know how to work around input delay because it doesn't happen to me too much online, but as far as visual lag you have to relearn your combos at a different timing or just stick to playing people offline. You could practice with someone from TYM in Online practice to get used to the delay with out taking loses on your record.

Face it, you're done.
Online is a joke with all that lag. I maintain a four bar connection 100% of the time and because of that I suffer.

People with slower connections have more frames to whiff punish and I have to react faster to other moves.

I've accepted it and take online with a grain of salt.

Ehh the online is okay, some moves you cant do super consistently, like basically ones that have a b3 off of juggles, but most others are doable consistently. Just takes a bit to get used to it.

I use the character/map selection screen to see how laggy the game is, and how slow my selection moves when I move it around the screen. It works pretty well.

The biggest problem I have, ironically, is I think the lag is worse than it is, and it's not... so I end up doing stuff TOO early because I am overcompensating for lag.
