I found something similar to the 1+2+3 shortcut for EX moves on the ground for air special moves, it doesn't seem as useful but it's interesting nonetheless.
Kano's EX Ball doesn't work because his is a meter-burn move when he hits the ground not an EX and Shinnok doesn't have an EX version of his teleport. I couldn't figure out how it was choosing which special to do except for with Kung Jin, for some reason Quan Chi's 2 skull has more priority than his 4, but for Takeda his 4 input move (which isn't even pressed with the shortcut it's 1+2+3+5) comes out as apposed to his air teleport which uses 3. Then again I'm not sure the numbers being higher guarantees their priority is higher it's just a theory.
I thought it might have to do with his teleport being variation specific but it doesn't explain it for Quan Chi. Same for Kung Lao it chooses to do his EX teleport which is a du input as opposed to his EX dive kick d4 (which Kung Jin does for his version of the shortcut)
