Input & Rhythm

Hey there.
So I'm pretty new to fighters and the more I play in the lab the more I feel there is something like a rhythm to inputs.

I may be wrong but it seems that my biggest problem at the moment for combos is to feel the good way to input.

Do you guys have any tips about that ?
Is there a tempo for inputing right ?
Should I listen to some tempo-specific music while training ?

Practice a lot. Remember that to run you have to cancel the dash by inputting block, and you'll often have to cancel the run into a normal or special in the middle of a combo (just inputting the normal or special after you start running). The timing isn't very strict in Mortal Kombat X, so the tempo-specific music isn't really necessary (and it could even be bad for training, because in a real match, you won't have the music in the background, and probably lots of strange noises instead).

Learn combos one part of the combo at a time. Once you learn two parts start practicing those 2. Then practice the third part, etc.

One thing to note in Mortal Kombat is there's no real 'timing' to each string or segment. You can simply press every button as fast as possible and still pull out each hit in the string, then there's a slight 'rest' for timing to put in the next string so you can complete your combo. Think of it like a Staccato rhythm if you're looking for a more music-based method for your practicing.
