1st off sorry for the repost of old info but just that beta is out now and all i thought it might be a good time to remind anyone who might of forgot and maybe figure out fully what the story is with it.
boon said before about super moves and with them having a hidden way to increase the damage

https://www.eventhubs.com/news/2016/jun/15/ed-boon-reveals-super-moves-injustice-2-have-interactive-element-them/

"There are opportune moments in a Super that a player can press a certain button, or a combination that will actually bump the damage up." Boon states, before going on to note that the inputs will be hidden, leaving it up to the players to discover.

just before ended my session was having with friend i did supergirls super and mashed the living crap out of every button on my stick, then tired just pressing a few buttons during the laser bit and sure enough the damage did increase

so things to maybe think about for other chars, is it just mash as many buttons as possible? does it have to be a certain part of super? will u get locked out of your chance if you press something before this time? is it a special move input ud1 bf2 etc? do you just hold button/s? is there varying amounts u can increase the damae or just one amount?
(obviously this will be more easy to find out in a full pratice mode and might even be taken out final build but no harm starting early if its stays in :))

I'm pretty sure that was only for the first/earlier builds of the game. I'm pretty sure they used the code for demonstration purposes so they could do, you know, 40%+ damage supers and finish the opponent with them to make it look "cooler"

I know there were codes in the same builds that would restore health. I noticed a lot of times in demonstrations they would restore health if they wanted to show more.

Boon wouldn't mention it if it wasnt for a public build

Anyway this reminds me of the toasty boost secret, just hope they don't end up doing too much damage

Wasn't this mentioned back in the summer during the reveal? I feel like Ed Boon mentioned this in interviews. It sounds very familiar.

Sounds similar to what the older DBZ and Naruto games had where you had to mash a certain button, do the buttons on screen, or rotate the analogs to boost your damage/get an extra part of the super.

Seems cool in theory but sounds pretty derpy from a competitive perspective, if i hit you with a super that cost all my bar then i already earned the 33% damage. Being able to boost it or reduce it based on hidden inputs is gimmicky.
Imagine you doing a super to finish off the opponent with 30% health and they do the inputs and it ends up doing 27% instead of the 33% and they end up staying alive.
To me that's a stupid scenario that shouldn't really happen in a serious fighting game.

In marvel a few specific supers allow mashing for more hits/damage, and if you compare the damage to vanilla marvel 3 the base damage of these supers was reduced so you'll get similar damage to what it was after the mashing. It's just for flare and a callback as MvC2 had that and people wanted it back.
Plus that's a bit different as supers in marvel are easy to come by and the damage varies greatly between supers where NRS games have a somewhat unified damage output (exluding some exceptions like supers that allow followups for example).
