If anybody has any questions about UFGT8, feel free to direct them here. I'm happy to clear up anything about the event and what took place. Hopefully I can put some misconceptions to rest.

I'm pretty sure that we had the least amount of pre-registrants out of all of the major fighters. The lack of stream time for our game was justified, in my opinion.

Basically what Semi Evil Ryu said. The stream schedule was made after registration closed and priority was given to the games that had the most entrants. We managed to fit in some extra stream time during pool play on Friday night, I believe, while the 3rd Strike Online Top 8 was delayed.

There were two main reasons why we didn't go for a third MK-only stream, and neither was limited bandwidth (we know Medina has 4G). One was physical space limitations. The MK stations were already right up against the side stage and seating area and squeezing in a spot for commentators would have been unfeasible. The other reason was that we didn't want to split viewership between three streams, as we were already splitting it between two.

Also, in retrospect, even if we had let Medina stream using 4G (and if he were there the first two days), it was so difficult to get a solid signal at the venue that a stream would've been incredibly hard to pull off.

This thread should be for those who actually showed up (not a diss to those who were screwed over at a certain airport *COUGH JFK COUGH* by a certain airline) The people who continue to not show up shouldnt have a say in how any event goes.

You guys did a great job with UFGT, which is one of the best ran tourneys in the country, bar none.

This was my first large tournament and the setup was awesome, my only semi complaint was the location of sfxt vs mk, same room, but our casuals and tourney section was packed all weekend while theirs was borderline empty. Would have been nice to have that extra 2 feet of match viewing room. But that's just splitting hairs, the tournament was awesome. I'm definitely going again next year!

I see that, though to be fair, nobody wants to watch SFxT. Hence why it was empty. They probably did have a bit more space behind some setups for viewing that the MK stations did, but we wanted that space clear anyway just so the Focus Fire stream engineer would have room to maneuver in case he needed to run out and fix something.

MK is pretty strong in Chicago, even if the numbers weren't there for UFGT8. I'd like to see in the future the MK guys in Chicago take hold of the MK at UFGT and run with it, giving them the reigns to take it up to whatever level they can. Medina & the GGA guys....trust in them :)
