Idea for new DLC character

Another Elder God, not shown in any MK game prior to 2016 MKX DLC. An Elder God, but very different than Shinnok (in ways that relate to ancient events involving the elder gods).

One potential roadblock for this idea is that in MK lore, the Elder Gods stay uninvolved in the affairs of the various realms. There would have to be a pressing reason, consistent with existing lore, for why this previously unintroduced Elder God would become involved in the plotline. This new Elder God would be an enemy of shinnok, but his remaining intentions would be somewhat unclear.

The Elder Gods are literally the most godlike characters in the MK universe, more of them should be playable.

One contemplation for the lore masters: what is a potential explanation, consistent with existent lore, that a previously unintroduced Elder God would decide to break from their standard practice of not being involved and become involved in the events of the realms?

They might find the situation pressing enough to interfere since Raiden has gone batshit crazy. Which is alluded to in a couple endings in MKX.

Although, according to Kotal's ending, they may just be content in setting up a Mortal Kombat tournament in favor of Outworld or Netherrealm so they can defend Raiden's onslaught fairly.

Nevertheless, I too have wanted to see more representation on the Elder's behalf. And in Quan's ending, as well as the scene from MK9's story mode where Raiden and Liu meet with the Elder Gods, there's a deity that has feminine features. So a female is entirely possible.

Nah, in MKXI Elder Gods will make Quan Chi their champion like they did with Scorpion in Deception. Since they can't directly interfere they will grant Quan Chi some of their powers, so his Sorcery will work differently. As his ending states, Quan will be Elder Gods' weapon against Raiden.

There has to be some possible reason that they would decide to interfere, when all other options have been exhausted...
