How to unlock soul eater?

I just bought the game with all dlc passes.

I only have two Shang Tsung variations available:

• outworld sorcerer

• dark magic

how do I get access to soul eater variation?

will I have this same issue for the other characters? Where their tournament ready variations are not accessible?

You have to put the three tourney variations in manually.

In what mode?

go kustomize, kharacter, start a 3rd variation or select the 3rd preset, go in, go to the abilities tab, hit 1 (square on PS4 or x on Xbox I think) and scroll down the list. You’ll see 3 variation presets with trophies next to the name. Those are the competitive. Select the ninja abilities and save it.

If you are in practice mode you can select tourney variations in the practice menu, but I think Shang's first two variations have the wrong name.

I think the game is great, but this aspect is poorly thought out and poorly designed. A simple fix would be having the variations be the default or even just having the tourney variations but they decided to ignore this despite the confusion and inconvenience. Hoping for a change in Aftermath, it's just ugly tbh

There's no question that the game's Tournament Variations should be the default Variations of a character in all modes, not just Ranked/Kombat League and Tournament modes.

It makes no sense at all to have other random Variations that simply confuse and split the player-base up. There would still be two to three slots for people to make whatever Custom Variations for non-competative modes that they wish.

I agree with the person whom said it’s extremely inconvenient this way instead of being part of the selections already available.
