How to Babality??

I can get babality sometimes. Ive noticed when I beat my opponent by a lot I can do it almost every time, but if its a close match often I can't do it? Is it just me doing the input wrong? Is there like a requirement while fighting in order to babality someone?

This, and only has to be done in the winning round. You can press block, but your block cannot absorb an attack.
