How does EX moves work in new MK X?

Hey guys, does anyone know are Ex moves in new MK X working same as MK9 ? (u have to press block butoon at the same time with special move) or more like Injustice, where u can add meter burn, after special move has been executed ?

you have to press the butoon like you do in mk9 IIRC

It's like MK9 but some moves have an additional usage of meter for extra properties or damage.

For example Scorpions spear regularly when EXd will stun longer and than you can decide to meter burn it again where he will shake it sending flames down it causing extra damage.

Yeah. You can spend meter before the move comes out, like MK9, and in some specials(maybe all specials?) you can burn meter AFTER the move is out like Injustice, but also some moves allow for both like Scorpion's spear where you can meter burn it as you input the move so that he sends two spears instead of one, and meter burn again AFTER the spears connect, so that he sets the guy on fire through the spear. Some characters/variations can even meter burn certain combo strings(I heard Kano can do this), and apparently you can meter burn your regular throws though I'm not sure this applies to all characters.

So EX moves are crazy in this game.
