How do I see the Internet connection now on switch after this recent patch?

How do I see the Internet connection now on switch after this recent patch?
Before the patch I always could see how many bars the other player had before actually accepting the match, but now I can't see any bars anymore.
No bars are shown now and I can't tell whether the match will be laggy or not until I accepted it & the match started, but then it's already too late.
I ended up running into 5 laggy matches in a row because since this new patch I can't see how many bars the other player has.

Probably removed since 99.9% of switch users are on wireless and you would never accept a match if you could see the connection quality.

1/5 ppl have always shown a solid bar connection and I was able to see & accept it and played smooth matches without any lag.
But now I can't accept anyone because I can't see any bars in casual matches.
In ranked it does find the good connection players anyway and you get automatched.
But for casuals? Come on NRS wth.
