How do I figure out the MK: Deception coordinates?

Everytime I look up how to get a character or stage there's always some coordinate bullshit. How do I figure these out?

The map of each world is mapped out in grid form. North/South is lettered, East/West is numbered (or vice versa). Shows where you're at in the corner.

There is a compass on the top left of the screen in Konquest mode. Underneath it will display the coordinates of where Shujinko is. Maps with grids and chest locations can be found online like that link that was provided in an earlier post.
