How do bracket resets work?

I've always been curious.

Like, for instance.

ECT 5, Reo was winner of loser bracket, Tom Brady was winner of winner bracket.

Grand Finals, Reo takes the first match with a 3-2 win.

Does it get reset to put them now on equal ground? Since the loser bracket winner beat the winner bracket winner, then they reset so it's as if both of them are like in the same bracket, or equal, going into the final match?

Because it wouldn't be fair if the loser bracket winner wins the tournament because he beat the winner bracket winner in the grand finals? The priority always favors the winner's bracket winner?

Because then, Tom Brady won with a 3-0, and then the match was over.

I'm trying to understand. Am I right on how they work?

The person in the winner's bracket has won all their matches without losing, so in order for the person in losers bracket to win the tourney (ex REO), they would have to defeat the person (ex Tom Brady) sending them to losers bracket, then defeat them again (eliminating them, thus making that person the winner). I believe this is how it works.

Tom only had to win one set because REO was already in losers bracket (Reo had already lost one match, losing again would eliminate Reo which is what happened).

In general, you have to lose twice to be eliminated from tournament. Tom (winners bracket) had not lost a match, which means he would have to lose twice.
