Hey guys so I've been playing MK since I was a kid and I just got MK X and just through some random searching stumbled across this awesome site! Also all the questions I'm referring to would all be NRS games. I'm not sure if this site discusses any other games but I'm specifically talking about Mk9, injustice and now MK X.
I've always been pretty good but I want to be able to be ridiculous because I know I can with practice but it's always nice to have some help and pointers along the way. So Thank you in advance guys!
So a couple questions I have is where is where is a good place to start on this game for choosing a character you can really compete with? I've played through a lot of the characters and I'd say I'm best with right now with the s-y variation of Takeda, the thunder god variation of Raiden, and the cyro mancer variation of sub zero.
I've read a few reddit forums on some important things such as start up frame data, recovery, etc, which eventually lead me here. But before today I've never paid attention to any of that. I've just kinda played by finding a few strings( I believe it means a quick combo such as 123 but correct me if I'm wrong) that are easy to imput and rushing my opponent relentlessly with a few specials linked on the end of those. But when it came to juggles I was just ok. Usually 4-7 hit combos at 20% or less.
So I'm looking at some combos for kenshi and theres terminology that I have no idea what it means.
So on the kenshi forum there was this post for these combos.
POSSESSED COMBOS POURING IN
Ji1 f32 ex DF4 JI2 b1 ex rk tele flurry demon
41% 16 hits HKD full screen ender
So I know what everything in that means except for ex rk, HKD, and full screen ender. What does that mean? and is there a good post that has some specific terminology past the basics?
A question is about cancels. Is there a universal cancel command? I've never really used them but I've seen some of the longer combos and they seem pretty important to use. I the its bb or ff right? Or is that to use for something else(excluding dashing)?
My last question is about frame data. I read up on some of it, I understand Start up and recovery and how to work the math in there. The other 4 categories I dont know well though. What do block and hit advantage, cancel, and the last category(that I forgot the name of) mean?
I know the post is long but I wanted to try and be thorough and direct with my questions and hopefully this post can be useful to other people starting out or trying to get competitive as well.
Thanks people!
