What's new

Hey, I grew up with MK.

itsmeMOB

Mileena's back!
The name's itsmeMOB, which I generally use for social media and forums alike, and I grew up with Mortal Kombat as a fighting series. I'm 19 years old and from Virginia, and I've been playing since MK: Trilogy on the PS1.

My favorite MK character is Scorpion (all day), and I've grown to be a fan of Johnny Cage, Kung Lao, Mileena, Kenshi and more. I've generally played most of the games in the series, with the exception of MKvsDC and the other spin-offs of the game that received horrible reviews, and I was a casual fan of the series until MK9 released, reigniting my interest in MK. I've been aboard the MK X hype train since its announcement, and I've got to say I'm dying for the game to come out, I literally cannot stop talking about it, lol. I'm an average fighting game player at best as far as my skill level is concerned, but I always strive to be better than what I should be because I want to improve at my skill level of fighting games, Smash included.

I've also got Injustice, where I had no knowledge of until Playstation offered it for free in December for the PS4 and I've gotten used to that as well.

Anyway, I'm on a forum hosted by the same developer as this one and I love the layout and the community as I've been stalking it for the past couple of weeks for MK X information and discussion, avoiding spoilers all over the place for story mode.

I'd definitely like to post here often, but I'll see, video game forums aren't my forte, wrestling forums are, but I do enjoy what TYM has to offer, so I'll stick around and creep and talk about my MK experiences, especially when the 14th comes.

Misc. Info:

Other than Scorpion, who I'd like to play in MKX (as far as new characters):

Erron Black (Badass gunslinger, what more could I ask for?)
Jacqui Briggs (She's like her dad, but faster, and kind of attractive for a video game character)
Cassie Cage (Sonya and Johnny all in one, plus, she has a mouth, and I like personality)
Takeda (Those lashers!)

So is your name MOB or itsmeMOB or is it a itsmeitsmeDDP thing... Or does MOB stand for something like morbidly obese burrito... Or are you an actual mob like 3 or more people with common goals causing chaos on the mean streets of Greenwich..
Also HI

Welcome and enjoy your stay among violence, knowledge and trolls. Please don't feed the trolls...they aren't nice here.

What system do you plan on playing MKX on?

I haven't heard these jokes about my online alias before, haha, but yes, call me MOB, which is what many people call me by. I usually pronounce it M-O-B, but I'm fine with it being the actual word itself. My full alias itself is kind of a wrestling thing because of DDP, I guess. :p

I think I've had worse on wrestling forums with trolls, those types are just awful.

I have no problem with XB1 or its users, but playing a fighting game on it just feels weird to me because I dislike their d-pads, they feel weird and it's harder to perform d-pad moves on them because of the way they're designed. I'm sure you can manage though, plus, I grew up on Sony, so it's safe to say I have a definite preference to PlayStation.

I actually grew up with Sony products, but switched during the Halo 3 era. To each their own and I don't mind the pad because I don't use a normal 360 pad. X1 pad is a lot better, but I'm probably buying the PDP pad.

Nice.

I still remember the day they brought that first MK machine into the pizza parlor I was working at right out of highschool. I saw that bloody Kano upper cut and was hooked ever since.

When I fire up MKX I will be going right to Kano again.

They were not jokes I assure you sir... They were legitimate questions... I needed to know what I was dealing with... Mostly because I'm really hungry and was hoping you were a burrito...
But I'm not mad you are not a burrito cause that would be a weird reason to be mad at a person... So I heard

I've never really bought or used fight sticks or pads before, I just stick with using a traditional controller, with the exception of playing them in arcades.

Where in Virginia are you from?
Northern Virginia area, residing in Richmond right now, however, for university.

There's a Chipotle right around the corner from me if you want burritos. :p

I'm sure I don't taste too appealing, though, I'm pretty lanky.

If your looking for offline sessions in the area join the Facebook page "RVA Fight Club" they have a session at vcu every Friday.
Oh, I know of that, I go to VCU and I've seen fight club stuff already, I need to prepare myself for that though, my skill level isn't high enough just yet.

i can tell you now almost no one who plays up there is "dominant" in mk, there are like a couple of people you maybe have to watch out for. The rest of them are gonna pick up mkx for the next few months and drop it honestly. In MK at least, your skill gap and their skill gap is smaller than you may realize. I live in SoVa and I've played everyone there. Personally i think "skill gap" is a mental barrier people put themselves in.

That's a surprise to me. The Smashers here are really good though.
