Keeping It Casual
My name is Axe, I'm a borderline casual/competitive MKX player. I love being competitive and figuring out the strategies to bring the best out of my characters, but at the same time I still love doing really risky things and going for big damage when it is not really the best idea. Some of the main character variations that I play are Ninjutsu Scorpion, Grandmaster Sub, Fisticuffs Cage, Covert Ops, Kenjutsu, Assassin Kitana, Piercing, Ronin, Blood God, Master of Souls, Gunslinger, Impostor, Unstoppable, Wrestler, Warrior Predator, and Alien. Yes I know that some of them are classified as "top tier" characters, but I honestly only care about the characters I have fun with. I haven't yet had a chance to try out the triborgs and leatherface but am excited to do so. Thanks all you guys for having me here

Hey man.. welcome! TYM is THE place for MK, Injustice and NRS game stuff. Just be warned there is a bit of a culture of complaining around here. As a competitive player focused site people get really into it, and loosing can only mean one thing.... the game is broken in some way. So try and not let any negativity get you down! There are plenty of great personalities around here as well.

I actually think that this kind of attitude is what makes the best players great. Frame Data is a clinical way to look at things and just doing "yolo" stuff now and then really is what wins a lot of games. I mean it is a risk, but it has payoff sometime. In a game like MK you can not "play safe" all the time. Sonics "yolo" slides as Erron Black or Foxy's "yolo" rolls on paper are terrible choices to do at that time in the game, but they totally work a lot of the time.

It is better this way
I'm in a similar situation, using the site and the people I meet on it to lvl up before I can get more serious. I also play Ninjutusu Scorpion and Grandmaster Sub-Zero and I think they work well together. That's a LOT of variations you use, and if I were you I would narrow it down to the 3 best, or your 3 favorite and master those first.

Exactly my reasoning! I do use the frame data so I can know how to keep myself safe in certain situations but going crazy can be a little fun. Sonic Fox in ESL was like that for a couple of rounds against Foxy in the grandfinals and it was crazy to watch.

Haha yeah that is a lot of characters for one person but I'd say my hidden talent is a great memory so I'm able to switch to any of these characters on the fly and am able to instantly be able to play at almost 100% with those characters. I also forgot to mention I do use Dragon Fangs as well! As far as the 3 I've put the most time into and are my favorites would be Gunslinger, Ronin, and Grandmaster. Though I do want to put more time into Alien and I'm pretty proficient with most of the other characters
