insane zoning with this annoying a shit giving-health-back move

lows and overheads from half screen

Who do you use?

.... they mostly come at night. Mostly.
one minor weakness in Skarlet is that she has little number of combo strings options in her moveset, and so, the Skarlet player has to play really smart in order to try not to become repetitive and predictable when playing footsies / neutral game with her ....

for her zoning capacity, yeah, she is really good in putting others characters "on check" state during the match

She's one of the easiest characters to flawless block. Most of her strings can be flawless blocked on the last hit. If you think she's going to throw out her whip move (is it B1?) you can walk forward and hit block and you will flawless block it a lot of the time. You can also flawless block her tentacles to make her more - and give you more time to get in.

She's also pretty punishable.

If you can't flawless block her stuff you are gonna have a bad time. With her zoning you just have to be patient and/or make a hard read on a jump in.

Record the matches, check what your opponents did and see what are your characters options against that
Upload the matches so we can give you better feedback

If you are on PS4 we can practice online sometime if you wish, my skarlet has a long road ahead but it could be usefull for both of us

pretty accurate post.

Just to add, Skarlet is going to frustrate you by sending you fullscreen with every hit she lands on you while sometimes draining some health, once you avoid the common mistakes and get closer make sure to pressure her well, her biggest weakness its upclose, also be sure to no let her get away with every B2 you blocked since its -17 on block

This is the best advice you can get. Flawless blocks tear her gameplay to pieces if you get them down.

I'm from Argentina, using wifi because my ethernet port is busted, but we could try and see if it is too bad or not

right now, i think Erron Black its her worst, other characters she can control the space if you know the MU that well, maybe Jade a little bit.
I'm wondering why you think Erron is her worst MU, I only played against noobs that spammed F4 and Slide to their own death, so I would say I'm quite inexperienced in the MU

She can't zone 52 Kard Pick up at all, because all her projectiles are weak against bulled, even blood trail and blood ball, basically she has to play footsies the whole game, but he can choose to zone.

Strings can be flawlessly blocked (weakening her otherwise solid pressure game)

limited combo potential

meh damage (standard for a strong zoner)

But I do agree that her strengths far outweigh her weaknesses. I think she wins a clear majority of her match-ups.

The thing with her B2 is that it's actually hard for a lot of characters to full combo punish it at max range. I feel like there are a lot of fast special moves that punish it at max range, but not many combo starters.

LawAbidingCitizen

Bomb Setups & Ball Rolls(Mileena/Cyrax)
  • She has a lot of gaps that are FB vulnerable.
  • She is weaker close range. She can jail D1 into 124 but it is a 1 frame window so I don't imagine many will consistently do that in sets. Other than that she has a hard time dealing with pokes and fast mids and staggers.
  • Her parry is good but can be beat by Special moves that lead to combo and lows, so characters that have low starters, Baraka comes to mind can full combo punish it.
  • counter zoning moves like Teleport, projectiles with knockdown and combo extender all counter her zoning hard. A large portion of the cast has Teleport but Scorpion is by far the hardest counter to her zoning.
  • a character with good pokes, gap closers and counter zoning can keep her in her weak areas and dictate the game forcing her to play a certain way and take risks like parry. Erron Black and Baraka are well rounded in some of these areas, so is Noob.

You’re right on the rest, but I wouldn’t really call her pretty punishable. I can play an entire match and never do anything unsafe aside from flawless block and whiffs.

That's true, the overhead might not be optimal to do but some Skarlet's I face do it. Other than that she is fairly safe (although most of the cast is lol).

I think it is a good thing to throw in the overhead, but even it is hard to punish at long range which is when it should be used anyway.

You don't need to even bother going for 124 after d1 on hit. Go for f43 so you can possibly start her bullying shenanigans.

Flawless Block works well against her until the player starts to stagger her strings. Then it's all mind games on both ends from there on out.
