Has anyone ever tried putting any of the classic MKs in a candy cab?

This past weekend was my first encounter with those sitdown candy cabs in which the players were playing Super Turbo. They look pretty damn cool and was wondering if anyone ever tried putting some of the classic MKs into one.

Would the control panel be the hardest thing to change out of them if you wanted the MK configuration? Or are the panels for those cabs specifically only for japanese hardware?
