I'm a UK player and have the US version also....80% of my matches against Americans are playable. If you have a good connection it's easily worth the extra fiver, especially as the Euro servers aren't particularly busy.

Hate to say this, but he quit on me too the last time we played. 3 games and then poof. He's got the skills to be a contender, but sometimes you have to take a streak in order to get better.
