Gohan (teen) general discussion

Jaku2011

LL leaving him airborne is annoying I guess you can do LL lightning legs assist. What are people's opinions of 236L seems pretty safe I can do 2L pretty fast after it on block.

He can do his 2S 2-4 times depending on where you are on the screen. Thats what his bomb loop is. They are hard but are hype and very damaging. Teen Gohan is probably my favorite character to watch

same here, I made him my point cuz he's too hype not to play. Just trying to build around him now. He needs assists to get in etc. So a beam or maybe SS Vegeta. I was looking at Trunks too

He can do from a confirmation of his normal grounded projectile a super dash without assist into a corner combo meterless, He's the only one in the game that can:).
I will put a video of that today at noon.:p
He also loves nappa level one super, because it guarantees his own level one.:D

There's the promised combo.

Rant block.
Question:But but nevera!. It's not the optimal damage!, Why aren't You godlike like SonicFox?.
Answer: I figured out the damn combo pattern!. Shut up!.
End rant pattern.
Anyway: enjoy....:DOGE
That aside. This combo pattern has heavy corner carry. so Someone can figure out How to exploit the chance that this brings on.:)

ok boys, who's using him and what the hell team are using? I find Gohan needs this more than several other chars given stubby normal and less than S tier neutral.

I've been toying around with Cell, Vegeta, Tien and Goku....haven't really settled yet, but it seems vegeta + beam seems to be the way to go.

Possibly throwing trunks in there and switching him depending on if I play vs 21. that match is cancer for Tohan.

isn't 2 gohans sub optimal? they don't really help each other do they? you have a team with no beam or real neutral assist, or am I missing something obvious?

Yea i build teams by who i like and try to make them work together instead of the other way around. 1st team is kid buu, trunks, bardock (agohan until hes out).

Also... double dragon punch fuck the world

I still need to try this character out in a team. I think he would be AWESOME with Gotenks cuz his pressure game is just as strong as A. Gohan's.

try it and see how it goes. they both seem like point chars tho and kind of suffer the same shortcomings it seems. Maybe I'm just playing too much into the cookie cutter A/B/C role play.

I just currently feel that Tohan needs assists to move around in the game. Then once he's in he can solo you for 60% into oki

I agree with you about TG, u deffintly want him as point just because as long as your not in their face the opponent can play a kind of keep away shit with him. Adult gohan though, I don't feel he share's that weekness as well, I feel he can compete fine at any place on the team.

I try to apply pressure / condition from air as TG with his ki blast and bombs, covering my approach with assist. Once they are more or less conditioned I can start going for Jump-ins to get right in their face and attempt to stay there. Thing about TG, even tho his reach sucks for punishing, he has a lot of speed for harassing.

totally. TG and AG are apples and oranges. I feel AG has slightly better pressure options, but TG is no slouch. AG IMO is point or anchor. His assist blows chunks outside some specific situations, and doesn't help TG at all. 2S being plus on block helps too. beam assist + 236M and you're in. from a competitive standpoint, there might be no point to using TG when AG exists, but I could be wrong as none are quite fleshed out yet. If you're a fan/ want the swag, TG > AG ;)

speaking of teams, I've been using trunks (dat assist hitbox is nuts) and SSJ Goku/black as anchor. Seems to be working fine. SS Goku + x factor + 7 bars of meter is a scary mother fucker

It's all so very confusing.

I think most people know it by now, but I'm maining him, running point - but I DONT open the match with him that often.

So, my team (P/M/A) is TGohan - Hit - Goku Black, but i typically select them as Black - Hit - TG. I think the team is very strong personally.

Firstly, character swapping is too fluid in this game to be constrained by the order of the team. Meaning, to me, a point/mid/anchor arent so much a product of the position they start in, but rather how they'll be played and a loose idea as to who you want to be alive last, and who's most efficient to lose first.

TG thrives off assists that let him approach, pressure and mix. His solo damage is excellent and he doesn't need assists to extend his combos. He's a solid front runner and can use meter well - when he can use it. No air supers. He's a great meter dump though with his lv5 leading in to absolutely idiotic damage.. He's a born point character, but struggles in the neutral without his assist coverage. I like opening with Black to establish a little neutral control and build some meter, then swap into TG early with a head start on meter and full health, since he sometimes has to bleed a little to get going.

I agree with you there. I realized we weren't so constrained by archetypes when I saw Fame96 using [basically] 2 point chars and a great all around char for massively oppressive rushdown. It works. I like the freedom this game gives for that.
