The "reset" is literally just a Mid. I have no idea what I watched or why someone, especially Check, thought this was something?

Jynks I don't think you know what a reset is.

"All this cheese" spamming buttons in training with autoblock off is not cheese.

So apparently this is related to an old Sektor bug that allowed Raiden to have an infinite (?) but was patched in a way that it is technically not gone just not possible for anyone but Scorpion. Doing it with Scorpion is said to be extremely difficult and not worth it, whereas Splash found that Ghostface can do it as an auto timed sequence.

The only difference seems to be that an overhead was used after the reset instead of a mid, so I don't know if this is the same bug just also timed using s44?

I have no idea the validity of this information, but it seems plausible. I also don't know how auto block actually works vs verifying this sort of thing and I don't own Ghostface.

Okok, I see. It's a bug with Sektor. I see now. Without the knowledge of a gamebreaking bug, this literally looks like nothing at all.

Surely this will be patched soon.

well fake reset, same diff. The point is it works fine on people in the wild. Usually it takes a month for most basic cheese to be defended against even by people that think they know what they are talking about. There is a big difference to doing thing in game and theory crafting. I've been "resting" people like this all day and very few have been able to get out of it.

Well, I dunno what a fake reset is, but this is a real reset. It's just also accompanied by a bug that makes the next hit unavoidable so it's effectively a combo.
People can't get out of it because it's actually broken, the real kind of broken, and they have to use breaker. This isn't basic cheese, it's a game breaking bug.

Sure I'll nitpick: it's an unblockable reset that facilitates an infinite, and this is the same exact bug as the first video.
But, to be fair, going by this thread alone it sounds like a Sektor bug when it was actually a Ghostface Assassin knife stance bug all along.

It's both, Sektors bug existed prior and is still in the game. However there seems to be a bug with Ghostface, as well.

Sektor was a red herring as its not what causes Ghostface's reset since the knife flip stance is always involved and he can do it without a kameo. Despite still being in the game, Sektor bug isn't actually related. Bit of a weird coincidence.
