Playtime for kitty!
It was an exciting night in Chicago with all eyes on GGA following Pimpimjim's NEC win last weekend. Inspired by PPJ's success old favorites like Dizzy, Moe and Don Cox returned and most of the regulars showed up to give us a record breaking turnout with close match after close match keeping the hype through the roof. In the end it was GGA 16 Bit's Catwoman (that's me!) that came out on top, defeating Peoria's Chaossphere and the previous 3 GBS winners PPJ, Max and Slips. This marks Selina's 5th GBS victory, tied with Slips for the record so far.
Also in the bracket, NEC champion PPJ decided to give Hawkgirl a much deserved rest and instead used his alternate characters. He started off with Young Billy Batson Shazam but switched to Lex Luthor towards the end of the tournament, where he was eventually defeated by Jeremiah's Doomsday. After being gone since the Halloween tournament Harley Quinn specialist McCutty Mayhem returned and defeated the recently successful "Hollywood" Fill Pops and Rational Jim to earn a top 8 finish. NRF Saucy Jack also placed top 8, his first solo placing with his new Green Arrow.
It's difficult to decide what the most hard fought, most hype match was of this tournament with the entire top 4 going to the last game and numerous nail biters earlier in the tournament. A fitting stream to follow NEC up with.
As always thanks to everyone who supported GBS by coming out to play or watching the stream. We are now only 2 weeks away from Frosty Faustings, which promises massive hype when GGA meets big out of towners like Glass Sword, Tom Brady and Wound Cowboy.
