Galloping Ghost Arcade's NEW Weekly Tournament: "Ghost Battle Series" Begins 8/22/13

GGA HAN

Galloping Ghost Arcade

Galloping Ghost Arcade (GGA, for short), home to many well-known MK9 players, is proud to announce its new weekly Injustice: Gods Among Us tournament: "Ghost Battle Series". In the same vein as Wednesday Nights Fights, Next Level Battle Circuit and the Atlanta Kombat Arena, this will be a weekly double elimination tournament, occurring every Thursday night.

The intentions we have for starting this new series:

1) Improve the level of local Injustice: Gods Among Us competition, while showcasing the talent of our players to the nation.

2) Encourage more nearby players to make the trek out to Galloping Ghost Arcade in Brookfield, IL and participate in our events. We love having "new blood" come out and welcome anyone in the area to come out and play.

Even if you have never been to a tournament before, coming out to an event like this is a great way to get your feet wet in the competitive scene for a low cost (5.00 venue fee) and test your skills in smaller scale event before heading to a Major tournament like UFGT (where venue and tournament fees can reach 40-50 easily). Players of every skill level will be in attendance; don't feel like you have to be great (or even good) to participate. Although these are technically competitions, these weeklies are also to assess your level of gameplay, improve your skills if you want to (and if you don't, that's fine) and meet others of similar interests.

Their has been a recent resurgence in the Chicago area Injustice scene, with great players like GGA Slips, GGA 16 Bit and GGA Dizzy using characters not commonly seen in tournament like Deathstroke, Catwoman and Flash; surely a "breath" of fresh air from the normal characters that dominate the brackets at most tournaments.

I'm hype for this events existence- especially if HAN plays Bane.
All though, what's up with every stage being random.
A lot of people put a lot of effort into mastering one, why give them only a 1 in 12 or something chance of playing it?
Cyborg needs Luthor's Lab, it's where his "dirt" is.
NRS intended 50-50s, why do we not use them?
Maybe random first match, then Loser gets to 50-50 and/or character change?

Thank GEESUS. I'm sick of having to sit through the "other" streams MVC and AE just to see top 3 in Injustice. Feels like they are trying to bury the game.

I broke my back... It's spinal.

Sorry to dissapoint, my avatar is more because I like trolling the comic book purist that think Bane was awful in the new Batman movie because he wasn't a luchador and had an English accent and I love all of his quotes. But we may have another Bane player in attendance...

Awesome stuff. I'm going to have to try and swing by up there soon for one of these. Hell, I may even do that next week. I'll be up there on Friday for Chicago Heart anyway.
