For homemade controllers - SteelSeries 1GC

Hi all, just thought I'd share a tidbit.

I bought a SteelSeries 1GC gamepad from Gamestop for $10 a couple of weeks ago because I needed to wire arcade controls up to a PC. It's cheap ($10 is its list price) and it's very small, too small for me to use to actually play games.

But the PCB is very small as well. And the contact points on it are huge. If I have to do any more projects like this I'll probably keep using this guy. I don't know if standard USB gamepads are compatible with the PS3. Might be fun to look into since these are so cheap and easy to mod.

Most USB gamepads are PS3 compatible. I've used my Logitech pads with zero problems.

Any HID compliant usb pad works on ps3. You can check whether it is in your device manager on the pc after plugging it in.

This one looks pretty good. No noticeable lag so far in Mame?

I haven't had any lag issues. I had to turn it into a kiosk for work so I didn't get to mess around with it too much. I will probably pick up another just to screw around with.
