Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn

Is anyone else playing this?

This game is, in my opinion, the best MMORPG game that I've ever played. Even better than WoW.

I've made about one of each basic class, but I've yet to get any of them to a job status. Though, my Lancer is getting pretty close to becoming a Dragoon. I just finished getting her MRD leveled to 15, last night. And she's currently at lvl 22 as a Lancer.

I don't usually tank that much in MMOs but I like Paladins in Final Fantasy. I'm working on some other characters and I also have a lvl 10 pugilist.

I'm a Legacy player on the Hyperion server. I love this game! Compared to XI though I find it much easier until you get to the end-game content when the bullshit dodging skills required get really frustrating.

If you're on Hyperion, hit me up! My name is Toukrikar Wider and I'm a very friendly and helpful lala and try to not miss a chance to help people enjoy this game as much as I do :D

Is it as unsolo friendly as its predecessors? I was a long standing XI player, but I was not in the mood for another round endless partying from level 5.

Dungeons are part of the main story, but there's a duty finder so you don't have to look for a party if you want to do dungeons all the time.

Maybe I'm not understanding, but I don't feel like that addresses my question. I guess what I'm saying is, if I only have an hour or two of free time to just log on a dick around, am I gonna have to coordinate this time frame with 5 other people to make it productive or is their shit I can do on my own?

If you want to go through the main story then probably not since you have to do dungeons with other ppl, but you can just go through duty finder and get matched up with them. No coordination required. For solo stuff, your limited to questing for the most part.

I was addicted to this for a week or so. Then my account got hacked and I got banned for gold farming. I sent in a service ticket to square but that was like 2 months ago....I don't think I'm getting back in.

It's very solo-friendly and casual-friendly aswell. Most things can be done solo and as was mentioned, there is a duty finder for battles that require parties so you don't have to sit somewhere shouting for parties. Experience is almost mindlessly simple to achieve when you know what you are doing and you will sometimes find yourself not wanting to play because the levelling is soo fast that you will want to take a break to slow down :p So if you only have an hour or two to game, you can still log in and get a quiick level on a job with leves or fates and hop off when you want :D

Really, the only time you don't want to use duty finder is for the end-game content for wins. Duty finder is great for say getting practice in the Titan hd fight but don't expect a win. It can happen, but don't count on it. I personally went through the entire story mode with DF parties and I can say that I'm a better player because of it ;)

I'm a level 40 Monk I believe. On Ragnarok. I've been really busy lately so only play during my breaks at work :(

Give Square time. I've heard that there was a mass hack and thousands of accounts were affected. What you might want to do is nicely harass Square about it (say weekly phone calls or something) just to remind them that you are a loyal player and would like your account back so you can keep giving them monies ;)

I must be doing something wrong then, because I'm lvl 34, and don't have any more quests in my lvl range.

Remember, when doing sidequests to check out all 3 regions. There are quests from 1-50 In the Shroud, Thanalan and La Noscea. Once you have exhausted those, if you are levelling a battle class (Gladiator, Conjurer, etc.) do fates in the level range that you are in. I think for lvl 34 Costa del Sol in Eastern La Noscea is still good for you. If you are doing a DoH class (crafter) do leves and try to cash in HQ items for 300% total reward (100% for completion and 200% bonus for the HQ items). If you are doing a DoL class (gatherer), do leves and preferably with resting bonus. You might have to do a little research with this since not every camp has DoL or DoH leves but all have DoW and DoM leves. The blue garter website has them listed.

Also, no matter what you are doing, visit your friendly neighbourhood Culinarian before you go (shameless plug :p) because even if you use food that is useless for what you are doing, ALL food has a +3% exp buff. Never grind without it.

I'm on Exodus, if anyone happens to be on that server. I made a bunch of characters on Day 1, so I have some pretty awesome character names:

- Catalina Winemixer
- Ryu Hoshi (pugilist)
- Ollie Queen (obviously an archer class, lol)

If you guys get bored, what if we all create a character on the same server to play/hang out on? I'm making a character on Hyperion, as we speak. Justice

Also, I just realized that this thread probably needs to be moved to "Other Games". Which is where I THOUGHT that I originally created it on.

Play Monster Hunter!
Only got to play it a little bit at a friends house on his character. It was enough to know the game isn't really for me.

That said, I'm really glad how much improved this version is over vanilla FF14, one of my friends was heart broken over how much that game sucked. He still doesn't think it's as good as 11, but it's fun in its own right.

Vanilla 14 crushed a lot of people's dreams.
