i've never played a final fantasy versus, was it always like a 3rd person action game?

These are of course my personal opinions, but I liked Final Fantasy for their interesting stories and character designs. However, I always thought that the battle system was insanely boring and lacked depth. I mean, I suppose I understand the sentiment that Final Fantasy has been mostly turn based, but I don't think that's necessarily the defining characteristic of a Final Fantasy title. It still seems at it's heart, to me, to be a Final Fantasy game. We haven't really seen much of the battle system and how exactly it works anyways, and I can see how it could still share similar properties with previous battle systems, especially FFXII. At any rate, I'm really liking what I see so far.

I miss the old Final Fantasy.

I'll keep playing the new ones and hope that they go back to their roots but the older FF games are classics. I am really pumped for the FFX and X-2 HD though, had some good times playing those games.

I have been waiting for this game since I was 12.Since then I went thorugh middle school and high school.I played in a band and played a seson of american football.I spitted coca cola at my bully.I sued a guy for breaking my glasses.I learne of my condition.I loved and hated and never got far with a girl.But now it's the time.It's coming and you cant stop it.Final.Fantasy.XV.

Its not Ps4 exclusive.

But IIRC its being developed for PS4 and later ported so... PS4 will have the better version, on top of better hardware.

Man, I hate terrible ports. I played that crappy detective game on xbox 360... there were like 50 discs. Fuck that noise.

They seemed a little eery about the Xbone port though. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't bother by the time the project goes gold (probably mid-2015 realistically) if MS's stock keep swerving the way it has been this past week.

I feel like everyone hates the new ff's but I like them I've played a majority of them (I haven't played some pre/sequels like ffiv after years, 13-2, etc.) , and I pretty much love them all. They are all so deep and fascinating and I always like at least one character from each. Not than many people like 12 or 13 but I liked them. I just can't help playing the series. Imo, even though they are making drastic changes to the gameplay and other aspects, there is still a lot to like about final fantasy like the amazing music, interesting characters, and the eye-stunning visuals. If everything was kept the same, it would be COD and Pokemon all over again. Though, I think that if Final Fantasy was like that, we would complain about how they never introduce anything new. Just my thoughts though.
