Last night at Wednesday Night Fights was a Street Fighter spectacular. With several players visiting this week before EVO, including some from overseas, SF4 was in the spotlight all night, and the Injustice streaming was saved for Top 3. In typical fashion, however, IGAU at WNF was as unpredictable as ever, with players leveling up and moving up the ranks.

EGP Krayzie, who has been leveling up his Catwoman week by week, made his way all the way to Winners Finals this week to face off against RDK Godspeed's Black Adam. Krayzie opened up the set with a textbook demonstration of Catwoman's offense, going up almost a full life bar before Godspeed was able to get his momentum going. Although Krayzie looked to be on the verge of running away with the match, Godspeed kept his composure and eventually evened things up. With both players having only 2-5% life and the clock ticking down, he caught Krayzie out of a jump with Black Magic into a trait dash to steal the game. The 2nd match started in a similar fashion, but with Godspeed losing nearly every exchange, Krayzie quickly closed him out and went on to take the 3rd game commandingly to enter Grand Finals.

In Losers Finals, Godspeed met Emperor Theo, who has been terrorizing West Coast Superman players and doing better at WNF each week. As Tan reports, this week Theo beat Rip, MF Slayer, and Tyrant in mostly Superman mirrors on his way to the top of the Losers bracket. Godspeed started this set off on a dominant note, using Black Magic to punish Superman's laser zoning, and taking the 1st game with plenty of life to spare. But Theo spent more of his time at close range in Game 2, and he hit Godspeed with a number of timely f2's to take the win. In Game 3, Theo was aggressive early on, and then used Superman's zoning to keep Godspeed at bay and close out the set.

Grand Finals found Krayzie and Emperor Theo going toe to toe in a very evenly matched first game. But with Krayzie going up by 80% in the latter half and looking to win Game 1 confidently, a barely-whiffed f11 string cost him a full punish and allowed Theo to come back from the jaws of defeat and sneak to victory. In the second match, Krayzie rebounded and played well, punishing Theo at every opportunity. With Theo dropping some combos, he was unable to mount a comeback and struggled to get free as Krayzie chased him down and eventually finished him. In Game 3, both players went back and forth, until Krayzie eventually found himself being comboed in the corner with no clash towads the end of the match. With Theo pouring on the pressure, Krayzie went for a cat dash to catch him as he came in, but Theo surprised everyone by stuffing it with a perfectly-timed FADC into throw that won him the tournament.

WNF is becoming harder and harder to predict, with lots of players putting time into their characters and knocking off new opponents each week. We are now a week away from EVO, and on the whole, the field of top competition in IGAU seems more wide open that it has ever been. Who will be in top shape by the largest tournament of the year? Is Black Adam's World of Dictators in serious jeopardy? This is sure to be an exciting, and surprising tournament as Injustice makes its EVO debut.

Tune in next week to see the last WNF before the community heads to Vegas.

I was prepared for Superman. I wasn't prepared for ”Normalized” Superman with pushback and blockstun...

I feel like I was playing blindfolded by the frame data... Welp, better here than Evo...

GGs everyone. See you all on Friday for training. Meow!

Seriously though, thank you for the kind words TYM. I'll be sure to brush up on my execution for the stream monsters.
Damn, the uploaded grand finals pretty fast!

You only won because you were mad I wasn't there for you to complain about how fraudulent Batgirl is. Damn Superman players!
