Does young Raiden being in make sense?

He is not the Protector God anymore. Lost his powers at the Big Bang in 11. Should age. How is he alive?

Of course, they could say that Liu Kang has given him eternal life and made him kind of his own Geras to Kronika.

Does that mean that the scene where Liu Kang went to Kung Lao in the MK11 ending was the Great Kung Lao? Are Raiden and Kung Lao now like sort of Gods? And they do not age? So that would be the Great Lung Lao and Kung Lao was never reborn in our times? I thibk it was Shaolin Monks that said his soul got reincarnated into the current Kung Lao.

Raiden as we know it most likely died since he became mortal and could not advise Liu kang any longer. Liu Kang respected Raiden more than anyone and also became very appreciative of Raiden giving him godhood. I can see Liu Kang wanting his mentor to live peacefully in his new era and found away for his soul to return to the Raiden we see in MK1

In the Aftermath story, Raiden stated that he would help Liu Kang until mortality hit him and he did. Past timeline Raiden is dead. Raiden was reborn in the new era with everyone else. They talk about him like he is new to this all in the trailers too

Guess the "peaceful" part didn't quite work out.:):(

Liu is also not the protecor of the Earth,he's a fucking Kronika 2.0
Yes, and Titan Liu might have created an avatar to represent him in this timeline, just as there's a new Kitana (who is technically a different Kitana to the Titan Kitana who opted to stay with Liu in one of the endings).

There's no avatar. Liu Kang was with Raiden at the dawn of time when Kitana wasn't even born. Lou became the keeper of time and it went on up to the first MK. Liu Kang didn't interfere with humans which still raises questions: did he creat the Elder Gods? If so he shouldn't be the Earthream protecor. Ed Boon and co just went "fuck it" just like with armageddon/mk9 intro

Bingo. It's a bunch of ninja wizards, monsters, and ninja robots, and sometimes there's a dragon. MK lore started out as a bunch of mumbo jumbo to make 10 year olds say "Cooooool!".
Some 10 year olds come back to surface crying when their character dies in the story. Mate, some weirdo is gonna revive your character in the next game, chill.

Except those 10 yr olds are middle aged men in a mid-west basement. One can argue that these middle aged men are avatars for the ten year olds on a different stage of the time continuum.

Nothing makes sense anymore, even for MK standards. Gods, elder gods, titans, "protectors" are a mess that started with Raiden's fusion with Liu.

Also never made sense that Liu was the king of the netherrealm.

Completely agree. MK once had the best storylines of any fighting game in my opinion. The Deadly Alliance/Deception/Armageddon era, say what you will of the 3D fighters, had excellent storylines. I eagerly awaited every new twist and turn and revelation and sub-plot. Things like Liu Kangs death felt like they mattered, and they really did! Once you bring time travel and multiverses into the mix all of that sense of finality goes away since you know they are just going to macguffin their way out of anything. Liu Kangs death was the beginning of the end and was felt through 3 games.
