Personally i'm a square hitbox guy cus them when something whiffs it's intended. For me the most frustrating is fighting certain characters because a good chunk of my moves won't even touch them ducking. i just want my basic square hitboxes
...but what do y'all think.

Even when games use rectangular hitboxes, they often use multiple of them to make characters' moves assume desirable shapes. On the other hand, nothing stops you from shaping your "freestyle" hitbox any way you want intentionally.

If something happens unintentionally, it's a matter of questionable effort at game designing rather than generic shape of hitboxes or something. Alternatively, it may be a case of writing off something you don't like as "unintentional", "shouldn't be a thing" or whatever, even if the thing in question is designed to work that way.

Tl;dr: "Fuck Cat's b3" would be much more laconic way of writing that original post.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the dynamic, 3D hitboxes NRS likes to use. Dynamic hitboxes result in too many unintended consequences for a developer to effectively test, and when they are discovered after the game's release, they are extremely difficult, if not impossible, or at the very least completely impractical to fix.

I honestly do not understand what the benefit of dynamic hitboxes could be. Hitboxes/hurtboxes should exist independently of the character model and should be designed only with balance in mind.

There it is...
I still dont know why they cant just make all mids hit down to the floor unless its a strong button and needs a weakness.

Like just adjust the vertical above the waist hitbox and horizontal hitbox.

D1’s getting low profiled annoying as shit

I dont mind low profiling moves as long as they’re not launchers or pokes. Like sweeps lowprofiling is alright.

Im no programmer but i dont know why they dont keep it more simple.

The hit/hurtboxes basically reward bad fundamentals and playstyle.
