So watching Evo has got me thinking, do we have the best possible stage selection rules? There is no denying that winning the first match has a pretty substantial inherent bonus to it, making it so if the set goes to 3 games you are guaranteed your map twice. In a game where stage matters as much as this one, I don't think this is the best possible solution. I propose the following:
Every map is random, with the loser afforded the ability to re-random. How can this be done? Easy, player two hits start. Or NRS can patch in a random button like every other fighter has.
I think this is the best way to not only allow a more neutral playing field for everyone, but also have all the stages get some play and get people learning. Is loser picks stage the best option? Like my solution? Have one of your own? Let me know what you think.
