Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition Discussion Thread

This game will be coming out sometime this summer for current gen consoles and the PC. How hype are you to play this game again? Will this be your first time playing? Are you interested? Will Capcom ever turn back to their roots after polishing their old titles? Discuss.

I got super hype seeing you would be able to play as Vergil, Lady, and especially TRISH.

But then I remembered you have to play half the game as Nero.

I'm going Brea mode in this one, probably will buy a new controller just to fuck it up with the japanese execution this game requires.

Last time me and @DarkSlayerSmith were practicing Starraves and Flying Guards.

Little know fact in DMC3SE if you plug in a second pad and hit start with doppelganger active the second pad will control the clone. Use super Dante and boom, coop DMC :) this also works for the arkham fight on mission 19 when vergil shows up.

I am hyped for this release too, I played the original dmc4 to death and even held a few no1 scores for a while. I am mainly hyped to see what they do with vergil, and @Vandy I'm surprised that Neros gameplay is a turn off. My only real issue with dmc4 was that Dante has to fight the same enemies that were clearly designed to be fought with Nero and his devil bringer abilities. Dante is still fun as hell done get me wrong I just wish he had different enemies for his section.

@Evil Eddy Wang props for remembering Brea :) she is a dmc goddess :)

I'm a DMC player, not on that level tho, but i expect to get there this time, Smith is like 5 degrees above me, he can fight some characters without touching the ground and shit.

Hey guys! Boy what an awesome game this is huh? I tell you, Bloodborne is the best PS4 game to date, no question. I've been gaming for more decades than most of you have been alive, and already Bloodborne has cemented itself as a master piece! But I don't have to tell you guys that, do I? Oh whoops, it seems I accidentally stumbled on the Devil May Cry 4 discussion, not Bloodborne. Hm. Devil May Cry. It's...um....it's got nice....it's um....it's a swell game.


Anyhoo,I'll see myself out. I thought we were discussing Bloodborne, AKA, one of the best games of all time. No place for that here! Farewell!

I'd like to see pvp matches. That would be broken. Imagine top players catching opponent once and killing him with jump-cancel combos:DOGE

His gameplay is fine. Using Nero (an emo teen) to replace Dante (a badass) is not fine. Nero's character is fine if he was just in his own game. It was not nearly as bad as replacing the actual Dante like they did in DmC, a game I will never play. Characters mean too much to me.

So DMC4 was half-great. It did suck that when you did use Dante all you did was backtrack through the same game you just played as Nero. Lazy design but I read it was not intentional and they did it at the end for budget/time reasons.

So we will see if Trish/Lady/Vergil - all of whom I am a huge fan of - will be enough for me to buy this.

It will still never compare to the nirvana that is Devil May Cry 3.

I agree. This whole direction with emo teens(DmC reboot) throws me off. I wish Capcom would understand we like the brass badasses.

really like Nero and I'm not sure if there is any improvements on graphics from what I've seen in the trailer.
