Defense: Shang's best friend

Been playing Shang since day 1 (used NW for my first tourney) but his biggest problem to me seems to be getting people off of him. Even worse, he doesn't seem to have a real good "get off me" wake up move. Just thought I'd start this thread to see how you all are handling rushdown situations, especially Raiden/KL/Liu Kang/Reptile

I also face the same issue especially characters that keep trying to cross up. For highly offensive characters, I throw off their momentum with a quick low punch (1) or kick (3) and then retaliate with 2,2,b+4 or f+3,4,combo.
