Countering Throws

I can keep getting thrown by my friend any time I hit the ground and i'm trying to stand up. I can predict it but can't counter it. Anybody know how to counter throw in this game?

Just hit the grab button to tech. The window is much larger than in MK9, and you don't have to guess the direction. As easy as buying Sonya a drink.

Counter throws with throws (L1). You have about 2.5 seconds to react to a throw

Aris(tekken player) was teching throws on reaction when he played the demo. It's a lot easier (although I still can't do it )
