Neo, the digital Jesus of The Matrix, WILL be DLC for Injustice 2.

I've had my hopes high ever since IG1 that we would someday see The Artist Formerly Known As Mr. Thomas Anderson in an Injustice title...but my suspicions have only recently begun buzzing in my head.

There are plenty of small signs that would leave open the door to such a possibility.
Recent news indicates there will almost certainly be a fourth Matrix installment in the near future. And of all the hero licenses under the WB umbrella that could be comfortably wedged into the meta of a comic book fighting game, not only would Neo already easily be high among the pieces of that pyramid, but it would fit NRS's recent pattern of cooking up characters with movies in their near future like 'Face and Alien. You guys know there are at least a few hundred thousand people out there who won't hesitate to pick up Neo like they would others.

But the key to all of this...the most prominent piece of evidence thus far, was brought to my attention by the beautiful and feral Selina Kyle.

Her Super.
The Motorcycle Toss.

Now, there are a hundred ways this move could've been animated.
But the final result, as we saw in her trailer debut and again today...that attack may as well have been a frame for frame recreation of the opening scene from The Matrix Reloaded; when Trinity opened the movie by driving an almost identical cycle off a building and arc flip momentuming it into a security booth below, and landing like a cat on the street below.

That's not a coincidence. There's no way.
The same bike? same backflip? almost identical same landing with the leg split on one hand?

It was Trinity who delivered the first message in the first movie.
And Selina is playing...

(wait for it)

...copycat.

Mark my words.
I might be insane, but this one may actually vindicate me.

I have seen the sign of The One.

I've wanted Neo since IGAU. He's a god damn legendary character and on top of that is a Warner Bros property. He does kung fu, he could have interesting abilities...I mean...Why not???

Not the first person to come up with this theory. Lots of people were saying it after the CW trailer.

Anyway, I don't think Neo will be DLC, I think the super was simply a head nod

The one that immediately comes to mind is the Subway station from the first one.
And then Stage Transition up the stairs, and BAM, a bunch of weird glitchy transitional shit happens, and you're on the Street of the final battle of Matrix Revolutions, complete with green lightning and the army of Smiths watching the fight.

Also: while I still believe The One is going to make his appearance this game, BUT I would not object at all to Agent Smith...simply because combat-wise, his options would be a little more diverse. Shit, you could take his cloning touch of death and make it his Trait, with 3 different variants: a Shang Tsung-ish Soul Steal for health regen, something similar but with Meter Drain, and an Impostor Shinnok move steal.

Also also: any iteration of Jeff Goldblum would be acceptable.

Man, Neo as DLC would be awesome, I would probably main him (along with Swamp Thing). I can only imagine how awesome NRS would make his move set, kung fu, pole beat downs and gravity bending special moves.. It would be awesome.

What if in a month or three or more, the Prophecy comes true?
How hype would it be to see that WB logo pop up...and then suddenly do the OG turn into Matrix Code trick?

I guess it could be a short lasting special tho or incorporated into his normals/strings.

Combine Shazam and Joker's IG1 Trait and Flash's evade.
Give him a buff that buffs his normals and adds a bullet dodge speed whoosh evade/Parry. Dodges projectiles and range attacks, parries and punches back in the face any up close/physical attacks.

I've spent WAY too much time pondering this over the years.

my hope is that, with the old IG1 tradition (i'm pretty sure this was the formula) of a 3-pack of skins for every DLC character, we'll end up with something to the effect of: a Trinity skin for Catwoman, an Agent Smith skin for Brainiac, and Cyborg as Morpheus.
