Consistency over damage, because if you do miss the damage combo, that's possibly less damage than the consistent one, but than again if I'm confident or trying to make a comeback i'll throw out a some flashy combos.
Practice the difficult combos enough to make them consistent.
Hitting high damage combos sorta gets in your opponents head, makes them think twice about making hard reads. Whereas if they see you doing less optimal combos they might assume you're of a lesser skill level. Obv dropping the combo is bad, but sub-optimal bnbs send the same message i.m.o
