What's new

Completely new to fighting games, anything I should read up on?

Newbie here; MKX is literally the first fighting game I've ever played. I was just wondering if there were any places with good articles/videos that I should take a look at before going back into Training mode. I like reading and watching things to learn, so it's OK if I have to spend like hours and hours doing research.

One final question: is going online the best way to practice? I've been doing that for a bit now, but it doesn't seem to help since I get combo'd into oblivion at every other opportunity. I play on PC with a keyboard.

One of the best things you can do is watch First Attack. It is mostly geared towards Street Fighter, but the basic lessons apply to all fighting games. Start with the Losing Sucks episodes (just scroll through until you find them) or any of the Season x Episode 1 as they tend to start over for beginners (Losing Sucks is one of the better ones though), then watch whatever takes your interest.

IMO, use online as a training/practice tool and don't take it seriously. However, there is no better way to play a fighting game other than 1v1 offline. Plus, good on you for using a keyboard and maybe a hitbox may interest you.
