Drove up Friday. Stayed at a house instead of the Wyndham because we had the whole family. Whitest Wade met me up there. Went to the property Friday eve. Got bodied in casuals. Lost in a side tournament for $5. Kids had fun. Watched Gross play a guy for $100. I tried for any side action up to $300. No luck getting said action. Gross won 10-2. Went home and to bed.
Woke Saturday hyped for the main tournament. Arrived at noon. Lost to Awesomo, sent to losers. Lost to a random, out of the event. Versus gaming guys did good. Wade, KP, Ebola, Degs, Gross, and others make it out of pools. Played side test your luck event. Beat sonic fox in a turbo match. Crowd went nuts. Lost to fox in the match set. Out. 7 year old daughter won against a random player. 7 year old lost to a random. Sonic recognized her salt and consoled her. Sonic is 7 year olds favorite player. Girlfriend advanced further than me this event. Got something to eat. Ed Boon gave 7 year old a t-shirt. Bodied randoms at MKX arcade machine in the free side game area. Watched Degs and Gross advance to top 8. Played more casuals and lost. Went back to the house and slept.
Woke Sunday hyped for top 8. Played a team variation tournament for $3. Recruited Salt Face for my Mileena team. Lost second round to Sub-Zero team. Girlfriend and 7 year old daughter advanced to 4th round with Jason. They both lasted longer than me again. Watched UMVC finals and asked "WTF is this the whole time".
Watched Degs beat gross. Bet heavy amounts of money against REO and lost. Met Footsies. Cool dude. Lost money on odds and evens for rounds ending. Watched Degs lose. Watched Tanya teleport all over the big screen often. Heckled Ed Boon about said teleports. Watched the Grand Finals. It was not entertaining. Watched some of the street fighter finals and said "WTF is this the whole time". Back to the hotel. Switched to Ravenous for my main. Practiced for hours. Went to sleep. Drove home.
Overall a good trip. The community is pretty cool.
