A MK themed Tournament?

I know MK is normally the back burner on grassroots scenes.

we got 9 players in Pensacola now.

but everytime I try to make it to a tournament(OoS), It's usually only me that ends up being able to go because of other people having either "no cash/work/school tests"

And to drive solo with these gas prices is ridiculous.

So I was wondering if we could try and see if we can get AL,GA,FL,even SC? and make it to maybe I dunno ATL scene and come up with some sort of date where maximum number of people can attend?

I'll talk to my people tomorrow during our MK fest, and ask for dates they know they can make.


I want to travel, but alot of these guys don't want to travel some where 7 hours or longer. And ATL is 5 hours away.


What is the size of scenes in these states?

Would you be interested in 2v2(tag team) tournament where you need a partner. as a side event?
(get your cage/scorpion teams ready)

Or a regional team battle?


If we can get a good regional, we can get out of region interest perhaps?

I don't know the size of most of the scenes here but the one here is slowly growing. and I think some OoS big tourney (If we can do it) will hype them up even more.

ATL would be the best place to do this really. It's pretty central to most of the SE scenes. ATL already has an awesome tournament though with Final Round. I was there earlier this year and it was hands down the best tournament I've been to including MLG. The entire top 16 was hype (as were a lot of the pool matches actually) and MK ran very smooth. If you can come to the next Final Round you really should.
